Okay all you Moderators heads up. I want to have a contest to get more people to register.
At first I said if we had a number when registered I'd draw numbers out of a hat and if you registered and that was your number then you would be a winner. We could have more than one winner.I'll furnish two prizes and ship free.
One is a big big book on the Civil War Battle Sites. This thing is 14x20 and over one inch thick.
So put your thinking caps on and lets have a contest.
Chuck

So, in your personal message I believe what you explained was that everyone registering would have a chance to win a prize, and the numbers on the forum list would be used for awarding prizes. For example, say three numbers ( 3, 46, and 81) were randomly drawn from a hat with the member numbers in it. Those three randomnly selected members would win. My contribution will be a 4.5 carat (9x8x6.5 mm) pink tourmaline from the Stewart Mine. The stone has some inclusions but is still a decent facet grade. The photos do not do justice to the color of the stone. :) |

Admin.
Yes that's what I'm saying. I went to the members list and I see we are numbered. I think this is the best way to run this contest.
We would have a number for everybody in a hat and draw a number for each prize we have. The prizes would be first ,second and so on.
So far we have 4.5 carat pink tourmaline from the Admin. and the civil war book, a half battery for GP's with holder and a small balance scales from me.
So everybody look around to see if you have got anything you can live without and can put up as a prize.
We need to run this contest for a month are more. Give me your input on this but now I've got to keep my wife off here. She will be logging in everyday to win that pink tourmaline under different name each time.
I think that we need to ship free any prize.

Grubstake and Seeker thanks for the books. I'm sure that anyone would happy to win one.
What I need to know is how long should we run this contest? We do need to post a date when the contest will be over and the drawing to follow the next day.

Ridge Runner,
A month like you suggested would be all right, I'll let you decide on the final date, maybe the 11th or 14th of August?
