Here are three fossils from the Utah west desert. Two trilobites and a fossil algae sample with a couple small agnostid trilobites that must have been feeding on it. The dark gray specimen is the state fossil, it is the species Elrathia Kingii, the tan colored one is rarer and called Modocia Typicalis. The map shows some of the trilobite beds in relation to a gold placer which is only about ten miles away. The gold spot is where the placer is located, the red spot for a trilobite area.
