|

Hi,
It has been requested that I give the moderators a set of guidelines for unwanted or off topic posts. Well, it would probably be hard to cover every possible situation that might require removal of a post. So, maybe I can generalize with some categories. Of course, the goal of the forum is to exchange good information having to do with the hobby (or profession for some).
So, in that spirit, non-related topics and posts (mainly those provoking angry disputes) should be kept to a minimum. If a post personally offends you and it also has nothing to do with prospecting or detecting; automatically assume it will be grounds for removal. If a post offends you, chances are someone else out there could be as well.
Examples of such posts could be those falling under the categories of graphic violence, sex talk, angry political discussions, etc. Any really argumentative posts that arise from mining related topics will also have to be removed. Anyway, use common sense and hopefully there won’t be too many problems.
There also was a question as to whether the moderators can block IP addresses. I don’t have anything against that, however, only the forum administration panel has that feature. If you know of someone who should be banned, personal message me the reason and their IP address. If the reason for removal is strong enough they will have to be eliminated.
Now some things that would be all right are jokes as long as they are not in poor taste.
Thank-you everyone.

Also, I will say thanks to NVChris for setting up the image upload service for the forum. I believe he is responsible for that feature.
