Rex, I saw on Bill's forum that you were interested in a Gold Bug. You might think about a Goldmaster. It's just about as senistive, and a used one is a lot less expensive. Hendo Very Happy

Hi Hendo,

Thanks for chiming in, you got me researching the GMT vs the Gold Bug. I found this link on the GMT vs the Gold Bug II. Apparently, both detectors were made by the same engineer, Dave Johnson, this is also true of the Tesoro Lobo. I hadn't realized this before. I think post no. 26 is the most informative on the topic. Looks like Steve Herschbach takes a moment to weigh in with his perspective.

Informative stuff, I still may consider the GMT due to the price factor you mentioned since price is a consideration. Also, from what I have now read it looks like the original Gold Bug operates at around 19 kHz while the GMT runs at about 48 kHz and the Gold Bug II, 71 kHz. So, the GMT is definitely more sensitive than the original Gold Bug.
