Nevada Nugget Hunters

Hi All

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas of some stops I could make on my 2 week trip though CA, Nevada and Utah. My first stop will be the Stewart Mine over by San Diego. I’m just learning to facet and I’m hoping to pick up some Pink Tourmaline and anything else on the trip. Then I’m going to work my way up the cost, but there so many places while I’m in CA where would be some must stops? Not sure if there’s anything good around Reno but will work my way to Rye Patch and some dry lakebeds and anything else I can come up with. Then on to Northern Nevada hoping to hunt some opals. Then on to Utah I’m thinking to Uinta Mountains hunt some gold then down to southern Utah for some minerals. I should end up around Gold Basin. I’m leaving the 3-23 I will have a laptop so I can keep in touch. It would be very appreciated for any tips.

If you are going to the opal mines they don't open to the public until May.
