For any of you who have hunted the Rye Patch area- there is a mine nearby called the Mylar Mine which is a well known locality for mineral specimens. I was wondering what the status of this mine is. I know it's no longer an active mine but does anyone have an idea who owns the mine and are mineral collectors allowed to collect if permission is granted? Some very rare and aesthetic specimens have come from here.

As you can see- most of the specimens are micromounts and not the large massive specimens we usually think about. Nontheless- that mine is very famous and well known among mineralogist.
