Thought I would throw this out. Here's some pics of a really cool rock I came across in the back country a few years ago. The first pic gives you an idea of how big it actually is. And how much longer it can hang on like it is, is anyones guess. And how long has it been like this? Imagine the forces of erosion and gravity, not to mention earthquakes that have allowed it to hang on so precariously.

The last picture with the rock sitting on the other looks like a Spanish Trail marker.Thats unless it's just one big rock and not one sitting on the other. The Spanish marked their trails by putting one rock on the other and having it lean to one side to point the trail way.So when your out and you see rocks stacked up like this it's more likely to be their workings.
Remember when they came up from the south they didn't have road maps,so this is what they done to find their way back home.

Well, look at the first picture again. The boulder in the middle is the same one as the second picture. It's as big as a semi truck! No way has that been place by man, especially on the side of that hill.
It actually is one rock sitting on top of what used to be the hillside bedrock. The mountain side has eroded around it leaving it sitting high and dry.
