Over on nuggethunting it had more than ten thousand visit to a post on Whites new PI.
The odd part about this it went dead in the water and not another word about it.The talk is it may be out by April but again nothing is written in stone.
This new company that has minelab may come out with a full digital gold detector. I say they may change the name so the price are not one in the same.
I'd say all of these new detectors hitting the market may cause the price to come down for the Big Boy Minelab.

I've been hearing rumors about a PI from Whites for years (starting a couple years after Minelab came out with the SD2000) I'll believe it when I see it.

I know what you are saying to be true because I've heard the same for a long time.This is like Dave Emery new Nemesis detector it's been talk about it but only time will tell if it gets on the market.

The Whites new PI is real! I have held it in my hand. Be patient, its coming. But thats all I can say. Its the real deal, and coming to a dealer near you. Grubstake

Well what I want to know is did you get to try it out are go with the one doing the field test???
It's been others that said they were doing the testing on it but said no more about it.
Thanks Grub for your reply and maybe it will be out soon.This is just like looking for a new car and after you buy it the excitement is all over.I don't think you'll be giving up your GP4000 anytime soon.

I guess I can say I had one in my hands too and it was way before Xmas some changes were going to be made and I for one am hoping for a UW housing. When Whites releases the unit I am sure it will be in the correct platform none of this fix on the fly stuff.....Should be an asset to the Detecting community as Whites is noted for......Geo

I took the person doing the testing out with me, got to hold it, listen to it, found a target with my 4000, deep and had him come over. He picked it up and dug it. Not gold, but a very good sounding target. I won't get rid of my minelab either, but for the price range and for what it does, its good. Just don't count on Discrimination, being worth anything. As is with most gold detectors, DIG IT ALL. Grubstake

It's big talk about it again on Rob's forum.I think everybody's mother brother sister and some aunt's have seen it had it in their hands plus played with it but me.
I hope it's out some so we can put all this waiting to rest.

This week I talk with Todd at Whites and he's does the circuit board layout for the TDI and he said that they are working hard to get 25 units out as soon as they can.It's so much work to get it into production and to make sure it's right.
On another forum a dealer posted that he received a call from Whites saying that it will be out in two weeks.I ask him about the coil and he said that it will have the one that been shown with it at this time.Whites may make coils for it are use after market coils like coiltek.On the price it may fall around 1500.00 give are take a 100.00 each way.
