Well, it's offiicial, Mexican truckers will be hauling freight across the border right after Labor Day. I doubt they have rigorous safety inspections, not to mention the potential for illegal alien and drug smuggling activity.
I came out of Yuma with a load of produce last week and got stopped by the checkpoint . It must be a pain for them but if they scrutinize every truck there can be no complaints . The main body of trucks that come up are loaded with produce and only go as far as Yuma . We haul it after that . Usually their trucks are pieces of cucamunga so they are smart enough to not try very long trips . Anyway , I would rather they come here than me having to drive into that cesspool . The trucks that come up to Salinas are registered here and are in good shape . Our problems with illegals are not based on trucks but with bleeding heart libs .
