Minerals to be sold around Christmas...Here’s a sample of some minerals I will be selling before Christmas time. Chrysocolla from Peru, kunzite from Pakistan, chrysoprase from Tanzania, and rhodochrosite from Argentina. The chrysoprase is from a new discovery and is not as translucent as the nice Aussie stuff, but the color is first rate, and there are fewer inclusions. The rhodochrosite is old stock and becoming hard to find, this piece comes from a larger parcel that will be up for sale. I’ll also probably have some other things on hand like jasper, agate, fossil algae, etc. The silver dollar is for scale but not for sale.Rex

Thats a nice piece of Kunzite - even try to facet any or have any faceted for you? |

I haven't tried to facet kunzite. I haven't done faceting for awhile since my grandmother owns the faceting machine. I did more cabochoning than faceting. The kunzite turned out a little dark in the photo although it is a light shade of lavender and has less of the pink shade. I did buy a beautiful 8 carat stone on ebay for a great price but resold later at a profit. Rex |

Howdy Chris,
I thought you might like looking at this piece it's sixteen and a half inches long. I've never seen anything quite like it and the price is also off the charts. Mt. Mineral has it listed on eBay for 20 grand! Cough. No matter how amazing a gemstone is I couldn't see paying that amount.
