Well, since things are almost dead here, I'll post a bit, if I can get pictures to post, that is.
Here are a few that 5 of us found over Memorial Day weekend at a "new to us" location. It is in Northern Nevada. What shows on the scale is what was found (finally) in two days. We hunted unsucessfully for two days prior without any success. We finally hit on the right combination of location, loop, and persistence to come up with these. They were almost all found about 10 inches deep in old tailings. After this picture was taken, 3 more were found. Excluding the really small ones, the average wt. was 5 dwt each. The largest was 6.2 and the smallest 2.8.
Interestling enough, the 6.2 and the 2.8 were both found using the Whites TDI with the new 10x14 "Digger" loop. All the rest were found with Minelabs using a variety of loops. Yes, the coin was found there too.
Now, let's see if I can get a picture to show up...

Those are some encouraging finds, nice looking gold! I will assume it is within 100+ miles of Winnemucca, but I always assume that when discussing Nevada nuggets, but I realize mums the word since you must have done a fair amount of research and lots of field work to finally make your finds.
Yeah, forum is pretty much ghost town status with a few visitors including myself from time to time, but hey, it's a Nevada forum. Ok, well I thought that was kinda funny.

I've seen the gold before when you posted it on the TDI foum but don't get me wrong, you can show it over and over as long as you want. It's nothing like seeing the color of gold to make the heart glow warm.
I want to talk more on the Digger Coil. You have said it's a great coil but what I'm wanting to know is hot on small gold like a gram are less.I have the other coil that looks like a joey that is dual field and I know it's one hot little coil. The thing is can I put on the Digger Coil and feel that it has done a good job and I don't have to go over again with the smaller coil.
I hear so many times dealers saying about how the after market coil they sale will detect a 1/2 gram nugget are less and detect the bigger gold at the same time.I can't say I've dug up any gold the last time I was out but if shoe tacks was gold I know I dug lots up with the small coil at 6 to 10 ringing loud in my ears.
I know you said the Digger coil wasn't named after you but I don't know why not,it's a good name for a coil.
Take Care Digger!

Chuck,
I can't say for sure yet how it responds to small gold compared to the stock coil or the Jimmy coil. My TDI had something go wrong and I had to send it back last week.
A gram nugget is larger than a dwt. so I would imagine it would do fine. A one Dwt. nugget is pretty big. I'd think when you get down to half a gram or less it might miss some. I would think it's as sensitive as the stock loop and I've gotten some pretty small ones with it. They weren't deep, but I heard them. Here's some I got last year with the stock coil.

Hey Digger
Sorry to hear about your TDI coming down with a case of swine flu are some kind of trouble.
I've had this trouble when you turn it on all the lights come on but no sound but turn it off again then back on it would be okay. This happen about three times when I was in Az. nugget hunting.I haven't used it at all being back home but maybe I need to.
Thanks for the info on the digger coil,it's just I don't want to put out the money unless it will better me.
Thanks for posting more pictures.
