Well, I am sure you know of Osceola. Nearly all of the land out there is claimed and some exploring is needed. However thats the thing about prospecting - you study and explore and sample to find your own spots.

George,
Here is a site that talks about an area East of Ely.
http://www.greatbasinheritage.org/osceola.htm
I was there once nd there has been a lot of placer work done in the Vally's with the loads up in the hills.
I checked at the BLM office in Ely about the land status and it is heavily claimed. But the surrounding area might produce some finds.
I meet a couple of guys at the Rich Hill Outing a couple of years ago from this area and they where packing nice nuggets. They said you just need to know where to look. _________________ Everett |

Osceola was one of the larger NV placers from what I have learned, maybe I'll be out there before it snows again.

The simple answer is to join a club like the GPAA and prospect on their claims.
You can do research and find your own spots, but the "how to" on that is probably 30 pages of text. I am writing a book that will include that info, but it probably wont be published until next summer. Until then, see the simple answer above.

As I understand it. you may detect in certain state parks BUT you need a permit.I'll provide more info if anyone wants it.
