HELLO I NEED A LITTLE HELP TO CUT DOWN MY SEARCH FOR A GOLD DETECTOR FOR THERE SEEMS TO BE A NUMBER OF THEM TO CHOOSE FROM.
1. GOLD BUG 2 BY FISHER, 2. SCORPION GOLD STINGER BY GARRETT, 3. LOBO SUPER TRAQ BY TESORO, 4. EUREKA GOLD BY MINELAB ( I KNOW THERE ARE HIGHER END MODELS BY MINELAB BUT TO EXPENSIVE AT THIS TIME), 5. GOLDMASTER BY WHITES. I WOULD LOVE SOME INPUT FROM SOMEONE BESIDES THE MANUFACTURERS. THANKS.

| Hi Stephen C. I'm AUCHIP'' i'M A Minelab dealer here in Reno. You might want to check out the Xterra Line by Minelab. They are light weight and they can be used for coins or gold by adding their 18.75 khz coil. lol |

Hi Stephen, i have a ace 250 which has pretty good reviews. I am taking it out to majuba hill to look for nuggets in about 3 weeks. i will post and let you know if I found anything. The other people that have this unit claim that it performs like a 400 dollar metal detector, but costs around 230 bucks. You might get one used on ebay if you are lucky at lower cost. I havent had much experience using it yet so that is about the limit of my experience at present.
Best Regards

Hi Stephen, I forgot to tell you that there is an ace 250 users group on Yahoo. They might be able to help you. I suspect htat there are a number of machine specific user groups, and a search and joining those groups might be a really effective way to do research on the types of machines and the effectiveness of the unit for searching.
Best Regards

| What kind of gold are you looking for? Small gold.. go for a White's GMT or GB II. Big gold.. MXT, LST, X70, GB1, Eureka Gold. The MXT is probably the most versatile detector out there at present if you'd like to prospect more than coin hunt. The X70, while not quite the prospecting detector that the MXT is, comes close and is a superior coinshooter. One thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of detectors out there that, while not considered nugget detectors, are surprisingly capable. ..Willy. |
