Granitegator,
The land is leased out from Newmont. You can detect there but cannot do you own scrapes or interfere with the ongoing scrapes. You can detect on previous scrapes with no problem. _________________ If first you don't succeed... |

| Rex, Did they have to get permits to do the scrapes, or is that land actually owned by Newmont? I though it was near impossible to pull permits these days. Or maybe just real expensive at the least. Anyways it looks like lots of fun! |

Wes,
The land is owned by Newmont as I understand it. They have a lease agreement with Newmont. _________________ If first you don't succeed... |

Rex, are these pics at the north end of the reservoir and east? Momma and I are heading down to RP middle of next month for a week of R&R. Never been there before, any help to keep me out of trouble would be appreciated.
Thanks .

RexB, I just caught this thread on the scrapes. I was wondering if there was someone to see before going over to those scrapes. I might get a chance around sept if things fall into place and would like to have a contact so as not to step across the wrong line.
Thanks Wyndham |

Wyndham,
They don't mind if you are going over their old scrapes with a detector. They just don't want folks doing their own scrapes on sections where they have an agreement with Newmont. No scraping can be done on any of the Newmont sections without a special agreement, and no scraping whatsoever on BLM land. Also, last I heard, Newmont is not looking to grant permission to scrape outside of the contract already in place with the current group.
