Hi all

I have a friend at work thats bought a forty eight acre lot in ashland kentucky
are there any of you that are familiar with kentucky. are there gems of any kind or gold to be found there. ???

It doesn't look too good as far as gemstones and gold are concerned. Here's a link: http://www.uky.edu/KGS/rocksmn/goldsilver.htm When the state gemstone is a pearl that can't be a great sign in my opinion.

However, it looks like it's covered in sedimentary rock, so the fossil possibilities are better: http://www.uky.edu/KGS/fossils/region.htm
